From the Constellation website: Pianist Thollem McDonas will be coming for the first time to Constellation and will be joined by several new local friends. Together they will form an ad hoc quartet that swirls structured improvisations Thollem devised and/or adapted specifically for this event and these individuals. James Falzone is a multi-faceted and acclaimed clarinetist/composer, educator and longtime Director of Music for Grace Chicago Church. Bill MacKay is a guitarist, composer and improviser in creative folk, experimental rock, and improvised jazz. Matthew Lux works at the intersection of intuition and metaphysics to develop sound structures to benefit the omniverse. Thollem is a classically trained experimentalist who has lived most of his life on the road absorbing and distilling the infinite variety of sounds and ideas with which he comes into contact. Expect an omni-idiomatic potluck of playful collisions and integrations.
